So... it's finally here!

Has your team qualified? What are your hopes, expectations and predictions for this year's World Cup in South Africa? Who are your favorites?

My national team, Slovenia, had qualified and are in group with England, U.S.A and Algeria. If both England and Slovenia manage to win their opening matches, then I believe that we have fairly good chances to reach quarter finals. I'll be cheering us and Spain during the tourney...

Eh, we had the promotion until the last 2 minutes in Pretoria when USA scored against Algeria to send us home. Still, I'm more than happy with performance of our national team... ... didn't turn out too well for USA and England either since both went home after Quarter-finals.

Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised by New Zealand, to leave WC undefeated from such a group...

Maybe one more comment on WC 2010. I think that as long as FIFA keeps restraining introduction of technology into football to help judges decide in dubious situations, "Fair Play" logo should no longer be promoted as the existing system is working against it.

The fact that irregular goals in second round were recognized as regular in (at least) three matches - while in at least one situation the judges were perfectly aware of it because of the replay on stadium display screen, which they weren't allowed to consider - is an outrage. Not to mention numerous dubious decisions when it came to penalising players...
